Why Yoga? Let's celebrate together, practice yoga, & share the why.
Join us for a special pop-up evening yoga class to celebrate International Yoga Day (it's actually on Friday, but we're celebrating early).
The class will be held Thursday evening, June 20, from 6:30-7:30pm and is led by Sam Reynolds, the Kampong's resident yoga teacher. Sam will guide you through a soulful flow class (all levels) to reconnect with yourself and nature. She'll share her why and we hope you will too.
All levels, all ages. No experience necessary. Families and kids welcome. Bring your own mat.
Light snacks provided by Trader Joes and vegan cookies by Sweet Fortunes, a local female-owned startup.
Class is open to all and by donation. Contribute what you'd like or what you can. Come as you are. Complimentary for Kampong members. Please sign up in advance.
The Why (International Yoga Day is actually on Friday, but we're celebrating the day before)
The idea of International Day of Yoga was first proposed by the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi: "Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well being. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day." — Narendra Modi, UN General Assembly
